By Stefan Sauer, Cristian Bogdan, Peter Forbrig, Regina Bernhaupt, Marco Winckler

This publication constitutes the refereed lawsuits of the fifth IFIP WG 13.2 foreign convention on Human-Centered software program Engineering, HCSE 2014, held in Paderborn, Germany, in September 2014. The thirteen complete papers and 10 brief papers provided including one keynote have been conscientiously reviewed and chosen from 35 submissions. The papers hide quite a few issues reminiscent of integration of software program engineering and user-centered layout; HCI versions and model-driven engineering; incorporating guidance and ideas for designing usable items within the improvement approach; usability engineering; tools for consumer interface layout; styles in HCI and HCSE; software program architectures for consumer interfaces; person interfaces for specified environments; representations for layout within the improvement method; operating with iterative and agile procedure versions in HCSE; social and organizational elements within the software program improvement lifecycle; human-centric software program improvement instruments; person profiles and psychological types; person necessities and layout constraints; and consumer adventure and software program layout.

Ethnography is a branch of anthropology dealing with scientific description of cultural phenomena through observation, participation and interpretation [29]. Ethnography is derived from Greek ‘ethnos’, meaning folk or people of the same race who share a distinctive culture, and ‘grapho’ meaning ‘to write’. The word ethnography refers to both, the method and the result, the study and systematic recording of human cultures, and also a descriptive work produced from such research [30]. Ethnographic research methods include conversations, interviews and participant observation.
